Penfield Man Charged After October Drug Raid

A Penfield man is facing a slew of drug charges after State Police say he was running a sophisticated marijuana growing operation out of his home.

28-year-old Evangelo Tavelaris was arrested this morning and charged with 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree Criminal Possession of Marijuana, and two counts of 5th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.  All are felonies.

He also faces misdemeanor charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawfully Growing Cannabis.

On October 5, 2016 Troopers raided 1799 Clark Road and found thousands of dollars in growing equipment, 113 marijuana plants, 7 lbs of dried marijuana, 6 pounds of concentrated cannabis oils and 4 pounds of concentrated cannabis candies.  

Troopers also found over 200 vials of concentrated cannabis oil packaged to be sold, 180 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, Morphine pills, Clonazepam pills, crack cocaine, three long guns, and over $4,000.00 in cash.
